Garden design
The design process begins with a conversation. How do you want the garden to make you feel? Favourite colours? Level of maintenance – and practicalities, like a new patio for relaxing/entertaining, or place for the kids trampoline. We’ll talk about logistics – how long the design and build will take, and a practical discussion about hard-landscaping, labour, plants etc. Have an idea of a budget – we’ll then talk about what things cost so you have a clearer picture of what it might cost you.
Landscaping your garden could significantly raise your property value by 77%, according to new research by Post Office Money. Doing up your garden could add more value to the property than a new kitchen, a conservatory or even an extension, the study shows.
Design Brief and Process
At our initial consultation (online or in person, I prefer in person myself where possible) I can talk you through the design process and associated costs and logistics. Rather than detail it in depth here and put you to sleep, I’ve done it in two easy downloads which makes for good bedtime reading. One for a sample design brief here, and one for the design process here
Consultancy
Your garden and outdoor space should reflect your tastes and personal style. If you’ve never thought about how to put that into practice, but you want to have a go – maybe that’s where I can help.
I’ve been working in contemporary art and design for many years and have a solid education in the history of art and architecture. This knowledge and experience enable me to help you define how you want to see your personal style reflected in your garden. This could be through planting, recommendations for outdoor furniture, containers, accessories, researching materials or working with you to identify suitable sculpture or artists to work with to help fulfil your landscape ambitions.
Projects are bespoke – defined through our conversation of what you want to do and achieve. Get in touch and we can begin that discussion.
